The B474 VULCAN is a packable & lightweight insulating mid-layer featuring PrimaLoft® Gold insulation. Paired with a windproof and water-resistant Nylon MiniRip outer to provide exceptional thermal efficiency & breathability without the bulk, even when wet.

Part of our new Arktis Elite Range, the B474 VULCAN is our most advanced thermal garment. Between its inner and outer wind-proof layers, the jacket boasts 100gsm of Primaloft® Gold across the body and 60gsm across the arms, meaning excellent thermal properties without the unwanted bulk.

The design and fit keep the operator in mind. The two large front pockets have dual opening zips, providing flexibility and internal slots provide convenient storage for mobile or comms units.

The two front pockets feature concealed adjustment points that allow for easy use without the risk of them interfering with weapon draw. The spacious hood can be fully adjusted across three points and features a wired brim to give maximum control over fit to ensure no peripheral vision loss when worn.

All this is contained in a form factor so lightweight that it can be packed into its own pocket.

This garment has a classic "true to size" fit. If wearing armour or thick layers beneath, you will need to size up.

Is the B474 Vulcan waterproof?
The B474 Vulcan has a DWR finish that will shrug off light showers and snow. The Primaloft Gold insulation also has expectational thermal efficiency even when when wet. For more serious weather it should be paired with a fully waterproof outer shell.

What temperature can I wear this in?
Temperature ratings are heavily subjective, it depends on your layering, tolerance to the cold, humidity, windchill and a wide array of other factors. That being said, most people will be comfortable down to -10c with correct layering underneath.

How does it fit?
The B474 is a mid layer, and is is sized "close to body". If you plan on wearing body armour or thick layers underneath, you should consider sizing up. Each size has a 5cm grade, please refer to the size chart above.

Can I wear this as an outer layer?
Yes, although we call this a mid-layer due to the way it is sized. The B474 also makes a great outer layer with it's windproof and water-resistant properties.
